The Manjimup Photographic Club would like to invite you to enter in our photographic competition, held in conjunction with the Manjimup Cherry Harmony Festival.

We would like to welcome you to our Opening Ceremony on at 5.30pm on Wednesday the 7th of December 2011. So please come along and enjoy a few drinks and view all the great entries and share your views and opinions with other passionate photographers.

All photos will be displayed at The Roundhouse in the Timber Park from 10.00am to 4.00pm on Thursday 8^th December to Sunday the 11^th of December.

The Awards & Prizes Ceremony will be held at 4:00pm on Saturday the 10^th of December 2011. After the ceremony please pick up your photos or arrange to have then collected. Don’t leave them behind.

The competition is open to all AMATEUR photographers. A maximum of 3 Photos per category, except for Class 5, which can only have 2 Photos. It must be the original work of entrant, and it must have been taken within the last 2 Years. You cannot enter the same photo in two different categories.

The Manjimup Photographic Club will have the right to refuse any entry that we feel may be:

1. Discriminating or offensive in nature.
2. Unsuitable for the exhibition.
3. Does not meet the terms or conditions of entry which is stated in conditions of entry.

All photos’ that do not meet the criteria for the Definition of Categories or the Display of Photos will not be judged or be in the running for any prizes or awards. These photos will still be displayed in a separate area.

Judging for the photo competition will be conducted by three independent judges who will be selected by the Manjimup Photographic Club. Their decision will be final and no appeal will be entered into.

While all care is taken, the Manjimup Photographic Club will not be responsible for any damage to photos entered in this competition.

1. Open Red: The red object/subject must be the main focus of the photograph. No sunsets as main subject will be allowed or any versions of orange or pink.
2. Portrait: Portrait of a person or persons
3. South West of W.A. Flora/Fauna: Depicting Plants, Animals or Birds in their natural environment. Please, no pets in this class.
4. Travel: Images taken outside the Manjimup Area that represent travel, such as buildings, people and their customs.
5. All the Scapes: Only 2 Photos are allowed in this class. Photographs in this section can include People, Animals, Architecture, Single Objects, Plants, Trees or Flowers but should however not be dominated by these single features. The “scape” in its entirety needs to be the “subject” in focus. e.g. Landscape, Seascape, Cityscape, Clouds, Sunsets.
6. Flower / Flowers.
7. Open: For Primary School Students only. Any subject of their choice. Note, you can have up to 3 Photos in this class.
8. Open: For High School Students only. Any subject of their choice. Note, you can have up to 3 Photos in this class.
9. Monochrome: Usually Black and White, but can be any colour and white.
10. Tin or Aluminium: Anything made of Tin or Aluminium. As this is the 10th Anniversary of The Manjimup Cherry Harmony Festival, The Theme for This Special Year is Tin or Aluminium. This can be an interesting class, so use your imagination.
11. Open Category: Any subject not mentioned in any of the above classes.

All photos entered in this year photographic competition will have to comply with below rules. So before sending in your entries please make sure that they meet all the right criteria.

1. All photos must be 8 x 10 inches or A4 size.
2. All photos must be mounted on card or have mats with a border of 3cm to 5cm around the photo.
3. No framed or laminated photos will be accepted.
4. All photos must have entrant’s full name, category and phone number on the back.
5. We strongly advise that photos placed on card use double sided tape, usually at the top of the photo is sufficient.NB: Do Not Use Glue, as the photos will buckle if the weather is hot.
